Skarmory

I had this drawing half finished in my sketchbook for some time now and I finally decided to finish it up. I thought skarmory needed a little love. <3 I always thought it was one of the prettiest pokemon ever created but not a lot of people seem to think so. :/

I tried to make is look at least semi-realistic. It didn’t work out quite as well as I wanted it to because I ended up having to use lines to make it look right, but I think I managed to make it into a creature that would be able to function (unlike the original version, which would never actually be able to fly). If nothing else I at least made it more detailed. :/ I always thought skarmory had a lot of dinosaur/dragon-like characteristics as well as bird so I went along with that.

This was done with HB and 4B pencils, black drawing pencil, and prismacorour pencil crayons. Because the picture was bigger than my scanner, I had to scan it in two pieces and put it together, causing me to do quite a bit of digital editing. After it was put together I couldn’t help fixing up a few little things here and there.

Out of anything else, the thing that bothers me the most about this picture is that I couldn’t get the wings to look symmetrical. >.<
