Masked Spirit

This is a redrawn version of a creature I drew a long time ago (before I joined dA). I think the creature was inspired by the movie Princess Mononoke if I remember correctly. It is some kind of forest spirit who keeps its identity hidden behind a mask. I’m not sure why but it does. It has thick, coarse fur on it’s body and the main around it’s neck and the tuff on it’s tail has a texture similar to that for horse hair. They say that anyone who succeeds in removing it’s mask and seeing it’s face will be granted immortality.

… I just made that up on the spot. XD

I used a ball-point pen for this picture and threw in some colour in photoshop after I scanned it. I think it came out pretty good.
